Small ideas for grown-ups

Build memory by noticing small changes

Memory play can stay gentle when the group is small and a child can look again instead of being tested for a score.

Show a small group

Place three familiar objects together and name them. Give your child time to look, then cover the group or ask them to look away for a moment.

Change one thing

Move, hide or replace one object, then invite your child to notice what is different. Let them look back at the first arrangement whenever they need to.

Notice the strategy

Celebrate looking carefully, pointing to a clue or trying again. The useful part is comparing two moments, not remembering everything on the first try.
