Name one thing together
Hold up one object and say its name slowly. Let your child point, copy the word or show you where another one is.
Offer two gentle choices
Ask whether the object is a toy or a vehicle, big or small, round or not round. Accept pointing and gestures as answers.
Let the child lead
Follow the object your child picks next. A few back-and-forth turns are enough; stop while the conversation still feels playful.
